9-color RGBO printing: brighter than standard CMYK DTF

Most DTF shops print with four colors plus white. Our printers add red, green, blue and orange inks, so saturated reds, oranges and greens print the way they look on your screen instead of going muddy.

Application

How to press a DTF transfer

Each transfer arrives cut to size on its own piece of film. Heavy pressure, 8 to 10 seconds, peel right away or after it cools.

Set your press280°F for 100% cotton, 260°F for blends, 240°F for 100% polyester, heavy pressure. Lint-roll the garment, and pre-press for 5 seconds if it is wrinkled or damp.
Position and pressLay the garment flat, transfer print side down. Press with heavy, even pressure for 8 to 10 seconds (3 to 10 seconds on 100% poly). Heat tape helps on hats and odd shapes.
PeelInstant or cold, your call. Peel right away or let it cool until you are ready, then peel slowly from one corner. If it does not release easily, let it cool completely and try again.
Second pressCover the design with parchment paper and press again for 8 to 10 seconds (3 to 10 on poly). This locks in durability, softens the feel and removes shine. Want gloss? Use a Teflon sheet instead.

Did not transfer? More pressure and 5 more seconds, then raise the temperature 10°F at a time. Full tips, troubleshooting and wash care are on our how to press page. New material? Do a test press first.

DTF transfers by size, questions answered

What does ordering DTF transfers by size mean?

You upload one design and type the exact width and height you want it pressed at, then choose how many you need. We print that many copies at that size, each on its own piece of film, ready to press. It is the quickest way to order when you have one design, as opposed to a gang sheet where you lay out many designs yourself.

How much does a DTF transfer cost?

It depends on the square inches you order. A single 2 by 2 inch logo is $1.00; a dozen 4 by 4 inch logos are $0.84 each; a dozen 11 by 11 inch fronts are $4.54 each, and fifty are $3.33 each. The rate per square inch falls from 25 cents on tiny orders to 2 cents on large runs, and orders of $100 or more get 5% to 25% off at checkout. The calculator on this page shows your price.

Is it cheaper to order by size or to build a gang sheet?

For one design in quantity, by size is simpler and usually just as cheap. For many different designs, the gang sheet builder lets you pack them onto one sheet at one price per inch, which is normally the lowest cost per transfer. Both print on the same film with the same ink and ship in the same 24 hours.

What file should I upload?

A PNG with a transparent background, exported at 300 dpi at the size you plan to press. Anything that is not transparent in the file prints. PDF is also accepted, and the uploader can remove a flat background for you.

What sizes can I order?

Any width up to 23 inches and any height.

Do I need to mirror my design?

No. Upload it the way it should read on the shirt. DTF transfers are printed in reverse on the film by us.

What temperature do I press at?

280 degrees F for 100% cotton, 260 for blends and 240 for 100% polyester, with heavy pressure for 8 to 10 seconds (3 to 10 seconds on poly). Pre-press for 5 seconds if the garment is wrinkled or damp, and finish with a second press under parchment paper.

How fast will my transfers ship?

Orders are printed and shipped within 24 hours on business days from Ellinwood, Kansas. UPS Ground reaches most of the US in two to three days. UPS 2nd Day Air and Next Day Air are available at checkout.

Is shipping free?

Yes on transfer orders of $75 or more, by UPS Ground. Under $75 you see the UPS rates at checkout. Local pickup in Ellinwood is free.

Can I order the same design in several sizes?

Yes. Add each size as its own line: for example the logo at 3 inches for hats, 4 inches for left chests and 11 inches for backs. Each line is priced on its own total area, and the whole order counts toward the automatic discount.

What if something is wrong with my order?

Contact us within 30 days. If a print is wrong because of something we did, such as a print defect or a shipping error, we reprint and reship it at no cost. Send a photo and your order number to support@armorink.com and we will sort it out.
