Your transfers were printed with care and made to last. Follow these steps and you'll get a soft, durable print every time.
Quick Reference
Temp: 280°F 100% cotton · 260°F blends · 240°F 100% poly
Pressure: Heavy. Firm, even pressure with the garment laid flat.
Time: 8–10 seconds for cotton & blends · 3–10 seconds for 100% poly
Peel: Instant or cold. Peel immediately, or wait until you're ready.
1. Set Your Press
- Set your heat press to 280°F for 100% cotton, 260°F for blends, or 240°F for 100% poly, with heavy pressure.
- Pro Tip: If necessary, lint-roll the garment so stray fibers don't get pressed under the print. A quick 5-second pre-press also removes wrinkles and moisture before you place the transfer.
2. Position the Transfer
- Lay the garment flat and place the transfer print-side down.
- Heat tape isn't needed on flat items, but it helps on hats and other odd shapes.
3. Press
- Press with heavy pressure for 8–10 seconds (3–10 seconds on 100% poly).
- Pro Tip: Never pressed this material before? Do a test press first and adjust one setting at a time.
4. Instant Peel
- Peel immediately, or let the transfer cool until you're ready, then peel slowly from one corner.
- If it doesn't release easily, let it cool completely and try again.
5. Second Press
- Cover the design with parchment paper and press again for 8–10 seconds (3–10 seconds on poly). This locks in durability, softens the feel, and removes shine.
- Want a glossy finish? Use a Teflon sheet instead of parchment.
Tips & Troubleshooting
- Didn't transfer? There wasn't enough pressure, heat, or time. Press again with more pressure and 5 more seconds.
- Still not sticking? Raise the temperature 10°F at a time until you find the right setting for your press. Extra presses won't hurt the transfer.
- Seeing fabric lines through the design? That's normal on a properly adhered transfer. It feels better and lasts longer.
- Big order? Press, stack, and peel the cooled transfers later, then come back for the second press.
- Pro Tip: An infrared heat gun lets you check that your press is heating accurately and spot any cool zones.
Wash & Care
- Wait 24 hours before the first wash.
- Turn the garment inside out, wash cold, and tumble dry low or hang dry.
- No bleach, and never iron directly on the print.
