Application

How to apply a UV DTF transfer

No heat press, no iron. Cut out a design and apply it like a sticker. Four steps.

Prep the surfaceStart with a clean, smooth, dry surface free of dust and oils. Wipe it with alcohol if needed and let it dry.
Peel and positionPeel the backing liner away from a corner. Line up the center of the design where you want it and lay it down evenly, like a sticker.
ApplyStarting from the center, press the design out with your fingers or a squeegee. Work outward with even pressure, especially around edges and fine details.
Final peel and cureSlowly peel the top film away at a sharp angle. If anything lifts, lay the film back down, press again and peel slowly. Then let it cure 24 to 48 hours before washing, and hand wash after that.

Cup wraps: wrap around the tumbler in one motion, then squeegee from the seam outward. Avoid rough, porous, oily or heavily textured surfaces. Questions? Email support@armorink.com.

Cup wraps nest well. About five 16 oz glass-can wraps fit per foot of a 22 inch sheet, depending on the wrap size and spacing.

UV DTF gang sheet questions, answered

What is UV DTF and how is it different from regular DTF?

UV DTF is a transfer made for hard surfaces such as glass, metal, plastic, acrylic and tumblers. Regular DTF transfers are heat pressed onto fabric. UV DTF needs no heat press: the design is printed with UV ink, laminated to a clear carrier, and applied with pressure like a sticker.

How much does a UV DTF gang sheet cost?

Prices start at $13.99 for a 22 by 12 inch sheet and run to $244.73 for 22 inches by 30 feet. The longer the sheet, the lower the rate per square inch, from about 5.3 cents down to about 3.1 cents, and orders of $100 or more get 5% to 25% off at checkout.

What surfaces do UV DTF stickers and decals stick to?

Clean, smooth, hard surfaces: glass, stainless steel, metal, plastic, acrylic, ceramic, coated wood, tumblers, cups and signs. Avoid rough, porous, oily or heavily textured surfaces.

Do I need a heat press for UV DTF transfers?

No. UV DTF transfers need no heat press, iron or other heat source. Peel the backing, position the transfer on a clean surface, press or squeegee it firmly, and remove the carrier film.

Are UV DTF cup wraps dishwasher safe?

We recommend hand washing UV DTF decorated drinkware for the longest life. Let the transfer cure for 24 to 48 hours after applying it, then hand wash with mild soap and no abrasive scrubbers.

How many cup wraps fit on a gang sheet?

It depends on the wrap size and spacing. Our UV DTF gang sheets are 22 inches wide, so several wraps nest side by side. A standard 16 oz glass-can wrap typically fits about five per foot.

Will UV DTF decals survive outdoors?

Yes. UV DTF decals are waterproof and suitable for outdoor use on signs, equipment and other hard surfaces. Apply to a clean, smooth surface and let the adhesive cure fully before exposing the item to water or weather.

What files should I upload?

PNG files with a transparent background, exported at 300 dpi at the size you plan to apply. Anything that is not transparent in the file prints, so remove backgrounds before you upload.

How fast will my UV gang sheet ship?

Orders are printed and shipped within 24 hours on business days from Ellinwood, Kansas. UPS Ground reaches most of the US in two to three days. UPS 2nd Day Air and Next Day Air are available at checkout, and shipping is free by UPS Ground on orders of $75 or more.

What if something is wrong with my order?

Contact us within 30 days. If a print is wrong because of something we did, such as a print defect or a shipping error, we reprint and reship it at no cost. Send a photo and your order number to support@armorink.com and we will sort it out.

The UVDTF is amazing for anything you are needing in sticker form. I have used this for decals on 2 race cars and multiple cups. It peels and sticks very well to any material!

The UV DTF Gang Sheets are Wonderful

The UV DTF Gang Sheets are Wonderful. This is now a standard item offered to all my clients. The images are bright colored and even the littlest details are accented. My client used her logo for glass ware applications. I tested some extras on different applications. They hold up great on coffee mugs, tumblers and coated tumblers of different colors. The only breakdown I found was I tried it on the back window of the car. It did crack but then again I am in Florida with the window/car in the hot sun all day and it lasted about 3 months before cracking. If it will survive that long against the heat it will sure last under normal applications. FYI, when doing a DTF sheet include one or two of the images on the UV sticker sheet. Apply to a coffee mug, flowerpot or glass candle holder and give as a thank you gift. You will defiantly get repeat orders, I sure do. Thank you Armor Ink for your great service and products.
