ABOUT THIS PART
Stocked by a shop that uses it
This is a replacement head cable for Epson i3200 printheads: a 14-pin flat ribbon cable, 60 cm (23.6 in) long, the kind that runs from the head board to the printhead on most i3200 DTF printers. It is the part we keep in the drawer for our own printers.
Head cables fail quietly. The cable flexes with every carriage pass, and after enough passes a trace cracks or the contacts at the end wear. The symptoms look like a printhead problem: random nozzles missing that move around between checks, a channel that drops out when the carriage is at one end of the rail, banding that cleaning does not fix, or a head the printer stops detecting. A new cable is a cheap first thing to try before you suspect the head.
Match it to the cable you are taking out: count the pins (14) and check the length (60 cm). Power the printer off and unplug it before you swap the cable, note which way the contacts face at each end, and seat it fully before closing the connector latch. A cable seated one pin off can damage the head, so take your time.

How to replace the i3200 head cable
- Confirm it is the cableNozzles missing that move around between checks, a channel dropping out at one end of the rail, or a head that stops being detected. A damper problem stays on one channel; a cable problem wanders.
- Power off and unplugNever plug or unplug a head cable with power on. Static and live contacts damage heads. Touch the chassis before you handle the cable.
- Note the orientationPhotograph both ends before you pull the old cable: which way the blue stiffener and the contacts face. Count the pins (14) and compare the length (60 cm).
- Seat the new cableOpen the connector latch, slide the cable in square and fully home, then close the latch. A cable one pin off or in at an angle can damage the head.
- TestPower on, let the printer detect the head, then run a nozzle check at both ends of the rail. Route the cable so it flexes freely with the carriage and does not rub.
General guidance. Follow your printer maker's service procedure. If the head is still not detected with a new cable, stop and ask us before replacing the head.

GOOD TO KNOW
Frequently asked questions
Will these fit my printer?
The nozzle wash, moisturizing liquid and swabs work with any DTF printer built on an Epson printhead, which is nearly every desktop and roll DTF printer sold in the US (I3200, I1600, XP600, DX5, DX7, TX800, 4720, 5113 and the rest). The damper and the head cable are specific to Epson i3200 heads; for the cable, match the pin count (14) and length (60 cm) to the one you are replacing. Not sure? Send us your printer model before you order.
Nozzle wash or moisturizing liquid, which do I need?
The nozzle wash cleans: dried ink on the nozzle plate, the capping station, the wiper, and clogs in dampers and lines. The moisturizing liquid prevents: it keeps the capping station wet so the head does not dry out while the printer is parked. Most shops keep both. Use the wash to fix a problem and the moisturizing liquid every evening so it does not come back.
How often should I replace the dampers?
Every three to six months is typical, sooner for white ink and later for the colors. Replace a set early if a channel keeps failing a nozzle check within an hour of cleaning, if you see light bands in solid white, or if a channel is pulling air. An i3200 head takes four, and most shops replace all four together.
How do I know it is the head cable and not the head?
A cable problem wanders: missing nozzles that move around between checks, a channel that drops out when the carriage is at one end of the rail, or a head the printer stops detecting. A damper problem stays on one channel. The cable is cheap and quick to swap, so try it before you suspect the head.
Can I use the swabs on the nozzle plate?
Only to blot, with a fresh swab wet with nozzle wash and no pressure. Never scrub the nozzle plate; let a soak and a clean cycle do the work. The swabs are for the capping station, the wiper, the carriage and spills.
Which bottle size should I buy?
The 100 ml bottle covers routine daily upkeep on one printer for months. Buy the liter if you flush lines regularly, run several printers, or store printers between seasons. The liter works out to roughly a third of the price per 100 ml.
